I am a Hong Kong based artist. I work with watercolour, paper and fabric.
I am passionate about the natural world, Hong Kong, and storytelling. I believe that everyone should have an element of artistic expression in their lives, not only people with large houses and big budgets. I use sustainable materials wherever possible.
In 2020 I started to make paper mobiles as a way to soothe my frayed nerves (my studio is in an area that saw heavy tear gas activity in 2019). Watching the paper figures dance and spin in the smallest breath of air was so calming and relaxing. I love making complex ideas into single shapes and the more I work with this medium, the more possibilities emerge.
In response to the lack of face to face classes during the time of Covid, I started the HK Mail Art Club - a weekly mail out of DIY art kits to do at home. The kits require you to assemble, colour and construct paper based figures, while learning about the world around you. They are perfect for children but also for adults!
When I am not at the studio, I am podcasting, storytelling and organising Hong Kong Stories, or taking miniaturised versions of real people on adventures with Tiny Trekkers Travel Agency.
