    Longstitch Bookbinding

    Traditional bookbinding from mideval times.

This style uses waxed linen thread to bind folded pages onto a leather backing. Books made in this way are great for journaling and writing as they can expand as needed within the boinding and lie flat when working.

    Coptic Bookbinding

Traditional bookbinding from the ancient Copts.

A bookbinding sttyle made by sewing pages to hard covers. the pages are folded together and sewn to one another sequentially. This can be a slightly difficult binding to understand in the start but is very rewarding. The finished books are great for writing and sketching as they lie flat when fully open.

    Accordian Bookbinding

A simple, yet elegant and endlessly versitile binding.

Paper strips, measured and folded carefully are inserted between two cover boards. This bookbinding process is simple yet effective and can be used in a variety of different ways. The interior can be used on both sides of the paper or just one as the writer prefers. These books are excellent for writing, sketching and painting. The paper used on the inside is key!

    Stab Bookbinding

Easy, fast yet with endless variation.

Papers are first pierced then cound together in this style which is famously Japanese. Books can be made with soft or hard covers, the hard covers have a hinge while soft use the folded paperr. These books are most useful for writing or sketching as they do not tend to lie flat as easily. The stiching patterns on the spine give a space for unique patterns to flourish!
